ABOUT MICK LAWLOR

I have over 15 years’ experience advising on large and high value international commercial disputes in the courts, before arbitral tribunals, in expert determinations and using various other forms of dispute resolution. I have lived and worked in London, Dubai and Amsterdam and I have acted on disputes across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, India and elsewhere. My work covers a number of sectors with an emphasis on industrials and technology. I also have significant experience of working with clients in infrastructure, retail, professional services and finance. I have over a number of years worked closely with my regulatory and investigatory colleagues on urgent and business critical matters for a number of international clients, with a particular focus on product liability issues. I take a commercial approach to disputes and attempt to find an early resolution wherever possible. I am also a big advocate for the use of legal technologies to maximise efficiencies. I am dedicated to pro bono, most recently working with the Peter Tatchell Foundation to fight against human rights abuses in south east Asia. I was previously a trustee and director of a medical research charity focusing on Motor Neurone Disease (ALS) and I am currently a trustee and director of Manchester Pride, one of the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ charities. I have also spent time in Guyana, South America, providing training to the judiciary to help combat the drugs trade.
