About Hector A. Chichoni

Mr. Chichoni practices in the area of US and global immigration law. He chairs the firm\'s South Region Immigration Practice. Previously he was the co-chair of the East Coast immigration practice for a multi-jurisdictional global law firm. He is the National Immigration Counsel for ALTA and for RBA in the United States. He has represented a vast number of corporate and individual clients throughout his career ranging from premier US health care organizations, Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, multinational corporations and universities to doctors, professors, researchers and students. His international experience includes handling matters relating to complex export controls, customs, and global corporate compliance and business transactions. He has represented clients in a wide variety of cases before the US Immigration Court. He is also a frequent speaker and author on immigration and international issues at US and international forums. Mr. Chichoni has been a speaker for Lorman Seminars, The Foundation for American Communications, The Employment Law Symposium and he has presented at the Global Forum – The Greater Miami Society for Human Resource Management, Squire Sanders’ Labor and Employment and Across the Border – Understanding Labor Law in Latin America seminars. Mr. Chichoni has served as lead counsel for immigration and employment verification during major acquisitions, mergers, and corporate reorganizations. He also serves as lead immigration counsel for international corporate clients, assisting employees with obtaining foreign visas and work authorization for assignments both in and outside the U.S. In addition, he has trained in-house legal teams on preparing petitions for the temporary admission of foreign nationals, educated the press on accurate reporting of immigration issues, and advised universities on the fundamental research exception as it applies to foreign students, researchers, and professors.
