Michiel Steur is a Dutch media executive based in London and currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer at i-D Magazine, a role he assumed in October 2024 following the title’s acquisition by supermodel and investor Karlie Kloss and her company Bedford Media.At i-D, Michiel leads the full commercial organisation and strategy and revenue growth across print, digital, social, and emerging platforms. His tenure began with a milestone achievement: the relaunch issue became the highest-revenue edition in i-D’s 45-year history. The subsequent issue, Autumn/Winter 2025, tripled in revenue, a significant milestone for the brand.Since then, under his leadership, the media brand has delivered impactful brand partnerships with leading luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, and non-endemic global giants like Google and Diageo, ushering in a commercially ambitious new era for the publication.Prior to i-D, Michiel spent a decade at Condé Nast, most recently as Vice President of Brand Revenue at British Vogue. He oversaw the brand’s commercial strategy and revenue diversification, while also leading special projects and events across British Vogue, GQ, and Glamour.Working with new Head of Editorial Content Chioma Nnadi, he delivered the highest-ever April issue revenue in British Vogue’s history for her editorial debut at the publication.Michiel began his career in the editorial team at British GQ at the age of 19, before transitioning to commercial under then-publisher Vanessa Kingori. In 2018, he joined British Vogue with Edward Enninful and Kingori’s appointments as Editor-in-Chief and Publishing Director. In 2021, he was named Acting Associate Publisher, becoming the youngest serving Associate Publisher at a Condé Nast title within the company’s history.In 2022, he was recognised on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in Marketing & Media, credited for his role in securing new marquee clients including Netflix, Barbie, Meta, and YouTube for Vogue and Condé Nast.
