Diane’s Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in honor of my late mother and dedicated to promoting early literacy and family bonding time. Diane\'s Library delivers free books to young children from birth to age five. My mother, Diane Williams, was a lifelong educator who spent much of her career in New Hampshire. Our program directly benefits the young families in the county where she taught as a reading specialist. My mom had an incredible gift that allowed her to connect with every student; she treated them with dignity, believing they deserved her commitment and patience. Diane’s Library carries forward her legacy by helping children develop a love of reading and the confidence to succeed in school and beyond. To achieve this mission, Diane’s Library partners with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL), an internationally recognized, award-winning, early childhood literacy program. Through this collaboration, we ensure that every enrolled child receives a carefully selected, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home each month. Children that are enrolled at birth will receive 60 free books, allowing them to build their own personal library at home, at no cost to the family!This simple but powerful approach makes reading accessible, fosters positive family reading habits, and helps prepare children for kindergarten. Since its founding in 1995, DPIL has delivered more than 220 million books to children around the world. As a local affiliate, Diane’s Library brings this proven model to families in Hillsborough County and is working to expand access throughout New Hampshire. In our first year, Diane\'s Library registered nearly NH children and gifted books.
