About Michelle Stonis
Michelle Stonis is an Assistant Professor of History specializing in United States history at Glendale Community College in Greater Los Angeles. She is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of GCC\'s Pulitzer Center Campus Consortium. This partnership bridges the curriculum between the History and Journalism Departments to train students to become international student reporters on underreported gender-centric stories. Bringing this collaborative initiative to Glendale College means that GCC is the only community college on the West Coast with this incredible opportunity for students. In addition to her work in higher education, Michelle consults in the entertainment industry on animated films. She has presented studio-wide training and animated team consultations on historical and feminist topics, such as body image, intersectionality, and representation. After being an invited speaker to the Walt Disney Animation Studios several times, she consulted on the Disney+ animated short \"Reflect\"(2022) about a young ballerina named Bianca who overcomes her body dysmorphia through her internal strength.
