About Michelle Shegda

Currently, I am an Lead Clinician at a residential treatment facility. I specialize in substance use treatment, eating disorders, mood and personality disorders, trauma recovery, and attachment patterns in relationships. I integrate Internal Family Systems, 12-Step method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior techniques, mindfulness and movement techniques into my work to guide clients towards self-acceptance and self-advocacy. I am a passionate AMFT/APCC, mental health advocate, and group facilitator dedicated to guiding individuals on their path to healing. As one who is clean and sober one day at a time, I am committed to empowering clients to discover their true, authentic selves. Both my individual and group approach is grounded in compassion and empathy, drawing from over two decades of diverse experience in such roles as nonprofit founder, life skills teacher, athletic coach, and personal trainer. More recently, I am infusing yoga and its principles to my trauma-informed, somatic experiencing interventions. In my spare time, I enjoy running, immersing myself in books, indulging in a good cup of coffee, and nurturing my passion for yoga and spirituality. I believe in the power of self-discovery and lifelong learning, and I am dedicated to helping others navigate obstacles, insecurities, and traumas to lead fulfilling lives. I hold a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, registered with CCAP, am a certified yoga instructor, ICF certified life coach, hold a M. Ed in Sport & Recreation Administration from Temple University, am a certified personal and group fitness trainer, and hold a B.A. in marketing from LaSalle University.
