About Michelle Gale
I’ve made a life’s work of facilitating women in stepping into their power. This is territory I know inside out because, having had an abusive father and a mother of whom he made a doormat, I had to be the one to break the intergenerational cycle and learn how to live my life fully and on my own terms. I help women who’ve recently stepped into a new level of leadership and feel constrained by workplace dynamics or self-doubt lead confidently without compromising who they are. I’ve developed a 5-step process that enables each client to obtain targeted training and experience in the issue or cluster of issues that are getting in her way. The women with whom I work start to see themselves and their situation clearly, set limits successfully, and come into their own. They learn how to embody their personal power and have the impact they’re capable of having. They get comfortable with their own authority and learn to wield it effectively. Instead of continually trying to prove themselves, they start living in accord with their own values. If they haven’t already clarified their purpose, they do so, and begin developing a meaningful career without sacrificing their well-being.They learn to be fully present and articulate themselves well. They start appreciating their uniqueness, dialing down the self-criticism, better managing their emotions, building self-trust, and avoiding self-sabotage. They leave with a stronger sense of self, a clearer sense of direction, more confidence, and an enhanced ability to communicate. As for me, I was a clinical psychologist with a thriving private practice when I moved into a brand-new high-rise condo, everything in which was outgassing all at once, and developed a heightened sensitivity to chemicals that made it risky for me to invite strangers into my office. When I recovered, I pivoted to coaching, which was often done remotely at a time when psychotherapy was not. I’ve learned to meld the compassion, insight, and facility of a seasoned psychologist with the focused practicality of a coach. I’ve worked with men and women from all walks of life, facilitated groups, and taught college courses. I’m certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Georgia State University.
