Michelle is the Director of Energy Tax Credits & Incentives within the Tax Services Advisory Group at Kaufman Rossin. As a mechanical engineer with a background in energy efficiency in commercial buildings, she helps clients qualify for various energy efficiency credits and incentives, including the 179D deduction for energy efficient commercial buildings and the 45L Energy Efficient Home Credit.Michelle is an experienced project manager and energy modeler for design and construction teams, with over 11 years of experience in the industry. She\'s passionate about aligning the interests of the development and construction world with the intent of building sustainable and resilient projects. Through her tenure, she has demonstrated that she is adept in the pursuit of green building rating systems and energy design assistance programs. Her time in the industry includes experience on over 40 LEED projects and advising on over 300 projects through one of the nation’s leading utility provider, Xcel Energy’s Energy Design Assistance program. While her focus is energy consulting with an emphasis on energy analysis and optimization, she also has experience as a building commissioning agent, ensuring buildings systems are designed and installed per the owner’s project requirements.
