About Michelle Joy Abrams

I obtained a Bachelor\'s of Science in Earth and Environmental Sciences from University of Illinois at Chicago in December 2011 & an Associate\'s in the Art of Ancient Philosophy. As an undergraduate, I conducted experimental design research culturing extremophile microorganisms from hot springs around the world, and extracting microbial DNA to perform PCR genetic testing using NASA Space Grant Funding. My research specifically focused on the ability for microorganisms to survive with little availability of organic compounds. I became a Registered Yoga Teacher in December of 2012.I currently provide high level technical expertise in the areas of Agricultural programs and policy, GIS mapping, as well as being an integral part of assuring success within the Agricultural communities in Southwest Colorado. I am also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer for Women of Colorado, which has been recognized as the leading women\'s events provider within the state. We provide high quality events for women artists & athletes, as well as focusing on ways we can contribute to local charities, organizations, and supporting local women-owned businesses. We have worked with high level corporate sponsors including prAna, New Belgium (FatTire), Merrell, Shambhala Publications & more. We also provide marketing services and corporate event planning. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, travel & adventure, reading, gardening, nature, writing music, fitness, cooking, concerts, teaching and practicing yoga.
