Michelle and her team’s work is focused on developing concepts and strategies to help individuals who have solid to strong language skills whether they are neurodiverse (e.g. ADHD, autism spectrum, language learning differences, emotional regulation challenged, etc.) or neurotypical. Weirdly, how we co-exist and relate in the social world is usually not explicitly taught, but when aspects of it are explained, it\'s helpful to all. The Social Thinking Methodology has evolved over the past 26 years. It\'s a metacognitively based approach helping individuals from 4 years old through adulthood, learn to better understand how the social world works, so they can better navigate to regulate within that world. Abundant free information is available at Interventionists can explore articles and webinars as well as details about our published products, workshops, OnDemand trainings and clinical services. We seek to provide information to employers, educators, counselors, therapists, family members and administrators to help them unpack complex aspects of the social emotional world and while providing practical strategies they can use with their children or students. Michelle and her team present on many topics tied to social communication, executive functions, including but not limited to self-regulation. Her speaking collaborative consists of 12 women from around the world who share how this information is developmental across age groups, as well as relevant within all cultures and genders worldwide. Michelle received:2019: Lectureship Award from the Social of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatricians2018: Keynote Speaker John Pratt Memorial Lectures, Whitehead Institute; Cambridge, MA.2012: Lifetime Achievement Award, The Prentice School, Santa Ana, CA2011: Outstanding Achievement Award, California Speech- Language-Hearing Association, District 4.
