About Michelle D. Mueller

I am an architect, experienced interior designer, and LEED Accredited Professional. In addition, I have a great undergrad degree in History. I enjoy problem-solving and creative, critical thinking. Recently, a group of design and mental health professionals formed the volunteer-led Northwest Rebuild Project, a 501c located in Oregon. We provide pro bono architectural and design advice services to qualified people who have lost their homes to natural disasters in the Pacific Northwest. We advise energy-efficient, sustainable designs suited to wildfire-prone sites. And we source grants and incentives when possible to aid our clients\' limited budgets. My goal as a professional is to work in collaboration with others to create well-designed spaces with a sense of community. I strive to find practical, beautiful solutions that have minimal negative impact on the environment and maintain budget parameters. I am especially interested in designing spaces that have purpose - such as the Virginia Woof Dog Daycare and Job Training Facility, for which I was the designer. Social Enterprise is an exciting direction in not-for-profit entities and I believe including a thoughtful, knowledgable design professional in the initial process will create a better built environment for less initial budget - and will better function as a business in years to come.
