ABOUT MICHELLE BRØNDUM
Michelle Brøndum is an RTS-winning independent film producer based in London, and an alumna of the prestigious MA Producing course at the National Film and Television School in the UK. Originally from Denmark, Michelle began her career as a Production Manager and Coordinator on Scandinavian theatrical features, while producing her own shorts on the side. In 2015 she produced her first independent feature, which premiered at CPH:PIX, did a limited theatrical run and was distributed worldwide. Driven to make bigger budget films with international reach, Michelle moved to the UK in 2019, and has since then produced several award-winning shorts, including the RTS-winning and Iris Prize-nominated period short REQUIEM starring Bella Ramsey and Safia Oakley-Green with more than 850k views online; the Cannes-nominated and Sitges-winning animation short OTHER HALF starring Evanna Lynch and Dylan Edwards; the BAFTA-shortlisted environmental documentary short STORIES OF YOU AND I starring Jonathan Pryce; as well as the VR game COVRT OPERATION, which was nominated for a Yugo-BAFTA. Most recently, Michelle line-produced the feature documentary SCALA; produced the short film GIRLS HUGGING THEIR FATHERS starring Patsy Ferran and Nathaniel Parker, as well as produced the feature documentary THE OTHER FELLOW, which was programmed at several prestigious documentary festivals, including DocEdge, Dinard and DOCVILLE. The film is currently being distributed worldwide through Reservoir Docs. As a queer woman, Michelle is interested in telling genre-bending stories across live-action, animation and documentary, and seeks to create a work-environment that is compassionate and inclusive, giving fearless new voices with fresh perspectives the freedom to create bold, auteur-driven work. She is currently developing her own slate under the banner of Jante Films.
