ABOUT MICHELLE ORTIZ

Michelle Ortiz grew up on the San Francisco Peninsula surrounded by creative family members, where she developed her eye for visualizing, designing, and planning. Her artisan father crafted the wrought ironwork seen in downtown Palo Alto and passed his design talent to Michelle and her siblings. Michelle studied graphic design and photography at San Jose State University, where she discovered her love of processing black and white photography.Michelle has been in the hospitality business for over 25 years and got her start in fine dining and catering large corporate events on the Big Island of Hawaii, working at the Hyatt’s restaurant. She refined her skills at the Palo Alto Hyatt, working in outside sales for catering and events, where she ran banquets, catered large events and learned how to decorate the head table for weddings.In 1997, Michelle established her catering and events business which has become Senza Finé Events. Michelle creates experiences that take the stress of event planning away from her clients. “Seeing people enjoying themselves makes my heart sing,” says Michelle. The range of experiences Michelle can bring to fruition is boundless, from a glamourous employee appreciation casino night to an elegant wedding rehearsal dinner and tour in wine country.Michelle|WeDesign is a new addition to Michelle’s business. The home styling service evolved when Michelle noticed people needed help creating office sanctuaries within their homes. Michelle helps develop spaces within the home that people love to live in. Sometimes simply rearranging furnishings achieves the new look, and other times a shopping trip is necessary to hunt down the functional items or decor that will make all the difference.In life and in whatever Michelle does, she thrives in her work with colleagues. She faces challenges in a fast-paced environment with creativity and thinking outside the box. For her, no mountain is ever too tall, and life is too short not to dream big and be big.For these reasons Michelle has found the perfect collaboration with Relevé Unlimited.
