When people ask me what I do I sometimes want to answer,\"I make things that I hope are never used.\"That\'s the life of someone focused on organizational resilience. We create playbooks and guides and checklists for some of the worst challenges a company can face. We build tabletop exercises and run teams through scenarios we hope never come to pass. It\'s an honor to do this work, even if the very best outcome is that it\'s never used.I have organizational resilience experience on an international scale across a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, hospitality, retail, data centers, and tech/social. My clients scale from start ups to Fortune 100. What\'s different about my approach is that I focus on holistic resiliency using a defined set of practices that combine and integrate emergency response, security, crisis management, business continuity, workplace violence response, and governance. I understand the needs of physical security and the challenges of Recovery Time Objectives. Exercise facilitation is at the heart of how I train and build teams to achieve organizational resilience and to date I\'ve conducted 206 tabletop exercises and drills. I take an encouraging attitude to set my participants up to feel confident about their ability to lead and make critical decisions under challenging situations. I love working with teams to build programs that reflect their organizational reality - whether that\'s a small business or a business continuity team within a large organization. There\'s a special place in my heart for mechanically complex environments because who doesn\'t love nerding out on human ingenuity.I\'m also a serial entrepreneur and have started several companies from an air plane seat on long international flights. I love building systems and then turning them over to very smart people to operate. Yes, I have lots of chairs I\'ve never actually sat in because I\'m always moving. This is the magic of the empty nest years, y\'all!
