ON TRACK by 5 provides resources to over 100 early learning centers in Lafayette Parish and our GOAL is to improve the quality of early care and education. I am working with the School Readiness Tax Credits-for businesses with support from the Pugh Family Foundation & United Way of Acadiana. Businesses can direct up to $5K to ON TRACK by 5 Alliance Child Care Resource & Referral Agency and receive a dollar-for-dollar refundable credit on your Louisiana state taxes. ON TRACK by 5 Alliance provides professional development and Resources to child care staff promoting high quality learning experiences for children. Last year, ON TRACK by 5 Alliance provided professional development to over 1500 Early Childhood Professionals in Lafayette Parish resulting in a 21% increase in high quality adult child interactions. This was at no cost to center or participants in our publicly funded centers. All the statistics show children in quality early learning programs are less likely to get in trouble with the law, less likely to be a teen mom, have up to a 40% higher IQ when entering kindergarten, earn 20% higher wages, 17% more likely to attend college or a trade school and overall have less health issues. 90% of a child\'s brain is developed by age 5 and what happens to a child in the first 5 years has lifelong effects.
