ABOUT MICHELLE LANGER

Michelle Langer is Senior Vice President of Capital Markets with Cottonwood Communities, a $2.6 billion real estate investment trust that owns and operates a diverse portfolio of multifamily apartment communities throughout the United States. In her role, Michelle’s primary focus is on the development and execution of capital raising strategies for Cottonwood-sponsored investment offerings. Since joining the company in 2013, she’s helped spearhead the launch of eighteen offerings, collectively raising over $1.5 billion in investor capital. Michelle is recognized for delivering high-impact conference presentations that consistently drive increased advisor engagement and sales conversion.Prior to Cottonwood, Michelle served as Vice President of Real Estate Investments at a full-service financial and estate planning firm in San Marino, CA, where she directed the real estate division and led a team specializing in complicated tax deferral strategies utilizing sections 1031 and 721 of the Internal Revenue Code. Michelle previously worked in acquisitions for a national real estate investment firm, where she sourced investment opportunities and led due diligence efforts. During her time there, the firm closed over $300 million in multifamily, student housing, and retail acquisitions across 14 states.Michelle began her career as an investment analyst and was one of four individuals who created the Major Asset Division of Re/Max Commercial Brokerage West Los-Angeles. Her team consistently ranked as the top-producing brokerage division across Southern California and specialized in the sale and exchange of high-end multi-family investments in prime Westside areas such as Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Santa Monica and Malibu. Michelle sits on the Executive Committee for USC\'s Lusk Center of Real Estate, and received her bachelors degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and MBA from the European University based in Montreux, Switzerland.
