The District Commander shall preside at all meetings; promote school of Instructions for Post officers at District meetings; enforce laws and usages of this organization, including District and Department Bylaws and Congressional Charter, National Bylaws, Manual of Procedure and Ritual and all lawful orders from the proper authorities. The purpose of the corporation are fraternal, patriotic, historical charitable, educational, and are:to preserve and strengthen Comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their surviving spouses and orphans; tto maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom; and to preserve and defend the United States from all enemies.
