ABOUT MICHELLE HORN
PERSONAL PROFILEIn 2021 Michelle joined the GSK Canada team as Medical Director for Specialty care. In this portfolio Michelle has been accountable of expanding the existing team to incorporate pipeline assets. Since then Michelle transitioned to Medical Head Vaccines and Infe tious diseases and most recently VP & Country Medical Director. Before joining the Canadian team, Michelle was the Country Medical Director for GSK Singapore, having transitioned from her role of senior medical affairs manager HIV and Specialty and Interim Country Medical Director. During her time at GSK she has been pharmacovigilance associate and secretary of the medical governance board. Michelle supported the leadership team in planning and implementation of new frameworks, managed internal and external stakeholders and patient engagement. In Michelle\'s role as Director she supported the leadership during the COVID19 pandemic as deputy chair of the Country Issue Management team, lead the medical affairs team and worked across functional teams to support brand planning and submissions for reimbursement. Prior to joining GSK Michelle was working for five years in the South African government health care system, which provides health care for the majority of the South African population and Sub-Saharan Africa. Within in this resource constrained setting, Michelle has been involved in patient care at both tertiary and primary health care levels. In her role in the district primary healthcare region she took on multiple oversight roles as well as mentoring junior doctors entering the region. The experience has been varied and challenging, often calling for innovative thinking and agility.
