Crochet Instructor: I teach both traditional and Tunisian crochet classes at the beginner and intermediate levels, on-site at the yarn shop and other locations coordinated with Lula Faye Fiber management. Classes range from absolute beginner level with no yarn crafting experience to those with moderate or high levels of crochet experience and seeking to increase their skill levels. Classes are taught by providing students with a project appropriate to the class level. I am responsible for creating and providing class syllabi, handout materials, and specific step-by-step instructions with photos. I design and write original patterns for most of my classes, and assist students outside of classes during shop hours. During classes, I give hands-on instruction to help students build their skills and will often work one-on-one with students needing extra assistance. Retail Associate: When requested, I substitute for full-time associates as Shift Lead. Duties include: opening/closing the shop, working the register to process customer purchases, supervising other employees in their duties, assisting customers with any yarn or yarn craft-related inquiries, and overseeing any classes or social events occurring that day.Sample Crocheter: I create finished crocheted items using yarns sold in the shop. The items are displayed in the shop for customers to view and touch. The displays highlight the yarns by allowing customers to see how a yarn will look when crocheted into a fabric, and provide creative inspiration for possible uses.
