ABOUT MICHELLE GIBSON

With over 19 years of nursing experience and a proven track record in various leadership roles, I am dedicated to enhancing patient care and caregiver wellbeing. My leadership is characterized by accountability and perseverance, which have led to significant improvements in patient experience. I continuously strive to build stronger partnerships to enhance operational efficiency and deliver high-quality healthcare.When asked about my leadership style, I describe myself as a transformative leader, focusing on driving positive change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. While I still practice this leadership style, over the past few years, my approach has evolved into that of a servant leader. Servant leadership prioritizes the needs of my team and patients above all else. By fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, I empower my team to excel and provide exceptional care. This approach has not only improved our patient outcomes but also enhanced team morale and cohesion. I believe that by serving others, I can drive meaningful and lasting change in healthcare. This is evident in our ongoing improvements in both patient and caregiver experiences, which play a vital role in delivering high-quality, meaningful care.I am honored to share that I received the Nursing Excellence Award in the first two years of my career and again in 2016. Most recently, I was nominated for the Delaware Top Nurse 2025 in Leadership. Additionally, I was recognized by Today’s Nurse as one of America’s top nurses.
