ABOUT MICHELLE E. JAMES
Throughout her 23 year career in educational leadership, Dr. James has served as an Interim Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, Assistant Principal and Adjunct Professor at the elementary, middle, secondary levels and in higher education. Coupled with the support and hard work of dedicated teams, she has successfully implemented several innovative program strategies, district-wide curriculum initiatives, social and emotional learning, instructional technology and data driven professional development. As an educational leader, Dr. James has also successfully implemented district-wide initiatives, such as: Response to Intervention (RTI) model, research-based Reading and Math interventions, online computer adaptive formative assessments, and character education programs. Moreover, she has been responsible for improving student achievement at an accelerated rate as a Turnaround Principal and Assistant Superintendent through various strategies, including effective Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), monitoring data to drive instruction, establishing a climate/culture that is conducive to learning, focused professional development, and research driven instructional interventions to support struggling students.
