About Michelle Duncan

Twenty five years of progressive experience in all phases of Operations, and Program & Project Management with particular strengths in problem solving and motivational skills. Multi-faceted experience ranging from extremely structured organizations to fast-paced, hands-on, start-up environments. Spent first ten years working for the U.S. Southern Command (unified command) from Public Affairs, Engineering, Civic Action, Contingency Operations to Counterdrug Operations and ultimately transferred to defense contracting status in support of base closure operations in accordance with the Panama Canal Treaty. From there, took the jump to the private sector and applied my experience in operational and program management gained from the structured environment of the Department of Defense, specifically in the area of program management; since then have established various program management office structures and methodologies. Have spent the last half of my career managing highly complex programs in the utility industry.Specialties: Over eighteen years experience in operation and program management with the Department of Defense at the unified command level and in the private industry, specifically utility industry, in program and project management.

   Manage several initiatives servicing small to mid-market utilities, as well as managing large programs and 8-10 active projects across other Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) product suites. Responsible for delivering Smart Grid Implementation projects for the Itron AMI Solution Delivery team. Offerings center around intelligent connectivity for critical infrastructure through Itron’s innovative AMI product lines for our Electric, Gas and Water customers. Developed portfolio/program structure for small to mid-market product lines focused on smaller utilities to gain efficiencies with project implementations. Manage $3-5 million portfolio of Itron solution deliveries with focus on AMI implementaitons.
