About Michelle Curran
I am an editor and newsroom leader who has 22 years of experience working on some of the biggest and fastest growing news websites in the world. I have a wealth of international experience working in newsrooms and in the field in the U.S, UK, UAE and West Africa. I am currently US Weekend Editor of DailyMail.com based in their NYC newsroom. I received The Ebola Medal for service in West Africa from HRH Queen Elizabeth II for the work I did in Sierra Leone as Oxfam\'s press officer during the Ebola response in 2015. I was also news editor of the UAE\'s most popular daily tabloid 7DAYS for more than five years, breaking stories that other publications would often shy away from in a country where media is more restricted. I started off working on local newspapers in the UK. I love mentoring reporters, helping them grow and ensuring all members of staff are reaching their full potential. My biggest strengths are that I\'m decisive, collaborative and lead with empathy. I love news, being the first to a story and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
