ABOUT MICHELLE BENNETT STIEGLITZ
Awarded a Masters of Science Degree in Executive Leadership and Change (ELC) from Daemen College. Thesis topic: “A Study of Physicians\' Use of Narrative Practices in Determining Patient Diagnoses\". Awarded a Bachelor\'s Degree in Urban & Regional Planning and Analysis (Honors)@ SUC at Buffalo. Further studied Urban Planning at SUNY at Buffalo (author and researcher of two published studies at the Center for Regional Studies, SUNYAB:\"An Inventory of Higher Education in the Western New York Region\" and \"The Economic Impact of Higher Education in the WNY Region\"). My interest is in networks, with an emphasis on the health and urban planning fields. Recognizing the isolation of many community members and the need to share information, I founded U Community Health Organization as a NYS not for profit organization to aid community members in sharing their health stories and to share knowledge of current health issues. I am dedicated to working within public or private organizations for the purpose of empowering people with resources, knowledge and support for building/supporting their personal health and well-being. My LinkedIn profile depicts golden apples as a reference to Abraham Lincoln\'s analogy used when he described the relationship of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. He explained that the golden apple depicts the Declaration (our freedoms and responsibilities) and the silver frame depicts the Constitution (to protect and preserve those freedoms and responsibilities). My experience has taught me that a successful relationship between our personal health responsibilities and our overarching healthcare systems must be mutually supportive in order to achieve the best outcomes.
