About Michelle Avalos
I’m a community-centered leader and strategist dedicated to empowering changemakers, social innovators, and entrepreneurs to unlock opportunity and thrive. My professional journey spans corporate experience, nonprofit leadership, program design, event production, and venture-building. As a Co-Founder at Impact Hub Houston, I help build platforms and ecosystems that connect entrepreneurs to the resources, tools, and community they need to move ideas into action and transform lives. My work is grounded in creating equitable access, particularly for those whose voices and visions are often underrepresented in traditional entrepreneurial spaces.Before stepping fully into the impact sector, I built experience in the energy industry and nonprofit governance, where I leveraged corporate discipline and community insight to drive outcomes and mentor emerging talent. I was the co-founder of Creative Vida, a nonprofit that expands professional development pathways for students through creative, culturally grounded programming, and currently, I also co-founded TECH23, a creative studio reimagining how science and technology come to life through culture.Beyond organizational leadership, I serve on advisory boards, facilitate business workshops, and speak publicly on first-generation identity, leadership, and community transformation, including on the TEDxHoustonWomen stage.
