About Michele Guieu
I am a collapse-aware artist, art educator, and activist who creates ephemeral art installations in natural environments and public spaces. My aim is to raise awareness about the 4E man-made crises we face today (ecology, economy, equity, and energy), and advocate for a change in our relationship with nature, recognizing that we are all a part of it. As the Arts Editor at MAHB, I invite environmental artists to write essays that are published on the Arts Community page in four different sections, including What\'s Next for Earth Project, Environmental Blog Series, and the Arts and the Anthropocene. I am also the creator and curator of What\'s Next for Earth, an ongoing art project on Instagram [@whatsnextforearth], supported by MAHB, that encourages through bi-monthly art calls a reflection on the climate emergency, the human predicament, and envisioning a desirable future. Christina Conklin and I cohost the bi-monthly Artists and Creative group meetings on the Deep Transformation Network created by Jeremy Lent. My husband and I moved to Bend, Oregon, at the beginning of 2023 to create an art farm. My exhibitions and personal exhibitions have been featured across North America and Europe, including at the de Saisset Museum of Art and History in Santa Clara, CA, the Tech Interactive in San Jose, CA, the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History in Santa Cruz, CA, the ZER01 Biennial in San Jose, CA, and the San Diego Museum of Art. I have also exhibited at international galleries such as Rosalux Gallery and Mac Paris in France, and Art Produce Gallery in San Diego, CA.
