ABOUT MICHELE PITTINI
Michele Pittini is an Associate Director and joint team lead in Arup’s City Economics Team, which he joined in January 2022. His areas of work at Arup include local economic development, transport, infrastructure, environmental economics and policy appraisal and evaluation. He is currently working as Project Director or Technical Director across a range of high-profile projects, including the Elizabeth line post opening evaluation, the UK Freeports Programme evaluation and various sustainable transport and infrastructure projects for domestic and international clients (especially in Italy and in the Middle-East).He was previously Senior Economist and Head of GLA Economics at the Greater London Authority, leading a team of economists providing expert advice and analysis on London’s economy and on the economic issues facing the UK\'s capital. Until 2017 he was a Senior Economic Advisor and then a Deputy Director in several UK government departments, working for the Department for Transport, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Committee on Climate Change.
