ABOUT MICHELE BERNARDI

A professional experience started in 1976 with an University Degree in Physics (University La Sapienza, Rome) with the specialization in tropical micro-meteorology with discussion of a thesis carried out in Nigeria on the energy balance of two food crops. And then continued for more than thirty-five years in the field of agro-meteorology, bio-climatology, agro-climatology, early warning systems for food security in more than 30 countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, Europe, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Latin America including resident expert for about 20 years in Africa. After an initial 5-year experience with the private sector, then employed by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the UN for various posts mainly in Africa (14 years) and then at the Hqs in Rome (15 years). After compulsory retirement, it is a privilege to still offer experience and knowledge giving me the opportunity to share experiences.
