Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is one of the largest preventive health agencies in the nation. The vision is to enhance community health through partnerships, programs and services for people who live and work in Hermosa, Manhattan and Redondo Beach. My role is to support BCHD’s operations at Jefferson Elementary school, through programs that encourage health and wellness, and educate students so they make wiser healthcare decisions. Solicited and secured $5K grant to expand Jefferson Elementary Running Club, which has growth from 50 to 200+ runners daily. Planned and coordinated annual success party, which, to date, honors 150 students who have completed 3 marathons during the school year. Direct a walking school bus, by walking 10+ students to school daily; Jefferson Elementary now has 5 different routes.
