Monitor and maintain the health and status of various systems which averages tens of thousands of nodes; • Handle routine tasks that have a pre-defined action and crate new pre-defined actions for new errors; • Create, assign, own and complete trouble tickets; • Provide customer support, after hours, to ensure users are able to access data; • Experience using and modifying Python and Shell scripts; • Experience performing distributed system, Hadoop, and Accumulo administration, including provisioning, tuning and troubleshooting of clusters => nodes running the Apache Hadoop stack of HDFS, Hadoop 1 or 2 (YARN) and Apache Accumulo; • Experience with performing distributed system administration of clusters => nodes using HP Open View; • Experience using Kickstart; • Experience provisioning and maintaining LDAP with SSH and PKI authentication; • Experience with the Linux logical volume management system (LVM); • Experience administering poller, scalable data-driven workflow platforms and staging nodes; • Experience with provisioning, configuring, tuning and administration of NiagaraFliles comprising of tens of nodes; • Experience with MapReduce programs running the Apache Hadoop stack; • Experience with provisioning, configuring, tuning and administering a system that creates and bulk ingests over records per day into Apache Accumulo instance running in large clusters that also run the Apache Hadoop stack; • Experience with ingest and query framework programs running the Apache Hadoop stack; • Monitors all system platforms and network connections, including VM’s in remote locations, and responds to critical system problems to minimize service unavailability; • Conducts trouble shooting activities to ensure service level agreements are met; • Perform problem detection and troubleshooting across multiple platforms, technologies and environments; • Provide proactive resource utilization monitoring, performance tuning and capacity planning.
