For the best part of 20 years, Brooklyn-based photographer Michael Weintrob has been taking pictures of the biggest musicians in the world for prestigious publications such as Rolling Stone, Spin, Mojo and Newsweek. Whether he is standing in front of the stage or leaping around his New York studio as he shoots his subjects, his effervescent enthusiasm for both photography and music shines through. Michael Weintrob has been shooting artist portraits and live music professionally since 1998. His work has appeared in Ro ing S tone, Spin, Mojo, Bi board, R elix, Downbeat and JazzT imes, among many other publications. He has documented thousands of musicians in performance, behind- the- scenes, and in portrait settings. Weintrob’s photography covers everything from advertising and editorial to highly imaginative portraits, always telling stories with his images. His long-term passion project, INSTRUMENTHEAD, is presented at music and cultural festivals around the world, art galleries, and contemporary art centers as an exhibition and now, as a fine art book published by Magnet Bound Press
