About Michael Craig
I am deeply committed to infrastructure, our clients, and the engineers and inspectors who make high-quality work possible. At Strinteg, that commitment translates into a hands-on, technically driven approach to bridge inspection, load rating, repair, and asset management.Opportunities in engineering are not accidental—they are built through technical judgment, disciplined execution, and leadership that understands the work at the ground level. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on solving the difficult problems that sit at the intersection of inspection findings, structural capacity, and real-world repair decisions. Whether leading statewide bridge inspection programs, directing complex load rating efforts, or advancing tools such as UAS, rope access, load testing, and structural health monitoring, my goal is always the same: turn uncertainty into actionable engineering decisions.I’ve led large, multi-year inspection and evaluation contracts, managed multidisciplinary teams, and overseen thousands of bridge inspections, load ratings, and repair efforts. For me, success goes beyond regulatory compliance. It’s about delivering inspection and engineering services that owners can rely on—services that clearly identify risk, prioritize repairs, extend service life, and support informed investment decisions. At Strinteg, I focus on building and growing our bridge inspection and asset management presence in the Southeast, while staying directly engaged in the technical work. I believe strongly that leadership in this space requires staying close to the field, the data, and the engineers making decisions every day. This includes advancing practical applications of load testing, refined analysis, and preservation strategies that reduce unnecessary load postings and maximize the value of existing infrastructure.Leadership, in my view, is fundamentally about people. I work to remove obstacles, set clear technical expectations, and create an environment where engineers and inspectors can do their best work safely and efficiently. I place a high value on accountability, quality, and mentorship, and I enjoy developing teams that take pride in their work and understand its impact.LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHYPeople first. Strong teams deliver strong projects. My role is to align people, priorities, and client goals while removing barriers to success.YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO LEARNOne of my hobbies is beekeeping. It’s my form of meditation—and a reminder that patience, structure, and balance matter just as much in engineering as they do in tending a hive.
Experience
Senior Vice President -southeast Bridge Inspection and Bridge Asset Management Director
Jan 2026 — Present
After 17 years with WSP — a firm of approximately professionals worldwide — I’m excited to share that I’ve made a career transition and joined Strinteg to lead the firm’s Southeast expansion. My time at WSP was extremely rewarding. I had the opportunity to work alongside outstanding engineers on complex bridge inspection, load rating, and rehabilitation projects across the country. The scale of the organization allowed me to contribute to major programs, refine my technical judgment, and help deliver consistent, high-quality work for our clients. It’s a chapter of my career I value greatly and one that helped define my approach as an engineer. That said, as I reflected on the next phase of my career, I found myself increasingly drawn back to the core of what I enjoy most — hands-on bridge engineering. Bridge inspection, load rating, repair design, and preservation are where technical judgment, field experience, and practical solutions truly matter. Joining a smaller, highly focused firm like Strinteg provides the opportunity not only to practice those disciplines at a high level, but also to directly shape how we deliver them.At Strinteg, I now have the ability to influence technical standards, staffing strategies, and project execution in a way that simply isn’t possible at a large firm. As we grow our presence in the Southeast, the goal is to build a team known for strong field capabilities, defensible engineering decisions, and efficient, high-quality deliverables that owners can rely on.
