About Michael Thomin
I am a historian, public archaeologist, and certified Florida Master Naturalist with nearly two decades of experience in museum management, historic preservation, and nonprofit administration. My career has spanned local government, university, private corporation, and nonprofit sectors, where I’ve focused on making archaeology and history accessible to the public as a means of preserving cultural heritage.With a passion for maritime history (especially piracy) I bring expertise in public history, maritime archaeology, museum studies, and heritage interpretation. As an SDI-certified Advanced/Computer Nitrox Diver and an AAUS Scientific Diver, I also have hands-on experience exploring submerged cultural landscapes.I am always open to collaboration and partnerships and am eager to connect with peers and colleagues who share a commitment to preserving and sharing the stories of our past.
