About Michael Sutton-Long
I’m an award-winning creative leader with a background spanning creative direction, branding, design systems, and motion design. I’m currently based in Los Angeles, following an extensive career in New York and earlier in London. In August 2025, I joined Tennis Channel as VP, Head of Creative, where I lead the creative vision across brand, marketing, motion, and design systems. In this role, I’m focused on building a cohesive, future-proof brand, scaling creative output across platforms, and developing high-performing teams that deliver at both speed and quality. I work closely with executive leadership, marketing, editorial, production, and external partners to ensure creative excellence and consistency across every touchpoint. My strength lies at the intersection of brand strategy, systems thinking, motion design, and creative leadership. I’ve led brand creation and evolution, directed talent and high-profile shoots, built and mentored large multidisciplinary teams, and overseen the delivery of thousands of premium assets annually. I’m equally comfortable shaping long-term creative strategy as I am solving day-to-day creative and operational challenges.Prior to Tennis Channel, I spent several years at Paramount+, where I helped build and define the brand from its early days and led the motion design team. My work spanned Paramount+, Showtime, and Pluto TV, delivering multi-award-winning campaigns, show packages, large-scale billboards, social systems, and brand toolkits. During this time, I built and scaled a team of roughly 25 designers across levels, with a strong emphasis on diversity, balance, and mentorship.Earlier in my career, I led design teams across multiple ViacomCBS brands and worked in London with organizations including the BBC. Along the way, I’ve contributed to high-profile projects and received industry recognition, including multiple Clio and Promax awards, with nominations from BAFTA and the Emmys.I am fortunate to be part of an industry filled with talented individuals and have always enjoyed bringing people together around a shared creative vision. I firmly believe that good creative work is an organic and enigmatic process, born from a blend of talent, practice, teamwork, timing, care, inspiration, hard work, and dreams. Building teams of like-minded individuals to create meaningful work has been a constant source of motivation and fulfillment throughout my career.Always happy to connect — email, text, DM, handwritten note, whatever your fancy. Don’t be shy.
