About Michael Spector
With over 30 years of global experience in biotech and pharmaceuticals, I’ve co-founded and led companies from inception to acquisition across four continents. Most recently, I co-founded Caelum Biosciences, which I led to Phase 3 trials and its eventual acquisition by AstraZeneca. My expertise spans drug development, business strategy, R&D, and commercial leadership, with a strong focus on creating value for investors while improving patient outcomes.Throughout my career, I have held senior leadership roles in both R&D and general management, guiding large-scale global businesses and shaping innovative therapies. Notably, I was instrumental in transitioning GSK’s HIV business in Africa from a for-profit model to one where we provided voluntary licenses, making low-cost treatments more accessible at a time when AIDS was devastating the region.Currently, I am co-founder of Champlain Bio, where we are focused on advancing next-generation therapies to address critical unmet medical needs. We\'re excited to share more in the coming months.
