ABOUT MICHAEL SONST
With over 25 years in engineering and digitalization, I\'ve seen tech trends come and go – and sometimes come back with a cooler name. Today, I lead the Cost & Value Engineering team for Software at Siemens Smart Infrastructure. Our mission? Making sure our smart solutions for buildings, grids, and mobility systems not only work brilliantly but also make business sense and deliver real customer value. I also head up the Supply Chain Innovation group – where curiosity meets creativity. We\'re always exploring new ideas, partnerships, and opportunities, blending entrepreneurial thinking with product and business development. Coaching others to create products customers *actually* want is one of the best parts of my job. Winning the Werner von Siemens Award for Customer First? A proud moment that showed listening to users really pays off. Along the way, I’ve collected a few patents and certifications – Master of Professional Consulting, Leadership Development Program, and Professional Product Owner, to name a few. But I’d rather apply that knowledge than frame it. My mission? To use digitalization and smart infrastructure to make a positive impact – from energy to cities – and to empower my team to innovate boldly, grow continuously, and enjoy the ride. Because meaningful work should also be fun.
