Your leadership starts with your relationship with yourself. This is the relationship that impacts every other relationship in your life. Your internal dialogue, as well as your perceptions of self and what you believe you are and are not capable of determines your path. This relationship requires doing the work to identify and address your fears, doubts, internal biases, and “blind spots” that impact your performance. It’s the thing that determines how you show up in meetings, presentations, and negotiations. It determines whether you can operate and make decisions in the best interest of your business, rather than letting ego, emotions, fear or old habits get in the way. The stronger your relationship is with yourself, the more effective your leadership will be. If you want to be the leader that attracts and keeps A-level talent – the one who inspires and empowers your teams to powerfully move in the direction of your vision – the most important thing to work on is your relationship with yourself. This is where I come in… I’m NOT the “how-to” coach. I’m not the coach who will teach you anything about industry best practices, provide technical training, recommend particular corporate structures, etc. There are plenty of consultants, and trainers who can help you with that stuff. If that’s what you’re looking for, I can certainly provide a referral. I coach the person… not the position. Who are you currently as a leader? What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? Who do you WANT to be as a leader? What are the results you’re after, and who will you need to be to get those results? Once we understand our starting points, we can define specific goals and co-create a plan to get there.
