A training contract comprised of four six-month seats in different teams, as well as a professional skills course, as required in order to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales.Seat 1: Data & Privacy, as part of the wider Commercial arm of the firm. Among the largest free-standing D&P teams in Europe, representing large international clients. Work involved conducting due diligence for transactions, helping draft inter- and intra-group data transfer agreements across multiple jurisdictions, resolving data subject access requests, creating records of processing activities, and conducting research on new legislation, including international developments, in a rapidly evolving area of law, with a focus on NIS 2.Seat 2: Commerical Litigation, working with public procurement, employment, privacy & data, and other forms of litigation.Seat 3: Tax & Incentives. Work involved conducting due diligence on transactions, establishing EBTs and other employee incentives such as EMI schemes, supporting contentious tax matters, assisting with EIS and VCT investment schemes and researching advice on tax optimisation.
