About Michael Saegert
My personal and professional outlook has always been that where there\'s a problem, no matter how daunting, there\'s always a solution. You just need to find it. With a legal career spanning 20 years now, this remains as true now as it was the day I received my law degree. From the onset, my career has been focused exclusively on property tax matters. Hired upon graduation by the Harris County Appraisal District, I became one of the first in-house attorneys to represent an appraisal district. Not only did this put me on the fast track to enhance my legal skills, it provided unique insights into the inner workings of local government and property taxation. The appraisal district provided the perfect opportunity to learn and gain an intimate undrstanding of the subtle nuances of the Texas Tax Code. This expertise was further enhanced shortly thereafter when I became appointed as legal counsel to the ARB, becoming the first attorney to do so. On a personal note, property taxation certainly pales in comparison to the allure and intrigue found in criminal law and similar, high-profile matters which make for great courtroom drama. And yet, I find nothing more satisfying than to help someone surmount a matter that affects us all - taxes - one of the two certainties in life.
