About Michael Regan
Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.\" Colossians 3:23I am a Senior Tax Manager at Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc. located in Irving, Texas. I have experience in a wide range of state and local income, franchise (net worth), and sales/use tax matters. Over the past several years, I have worked on a broad range of industries including: Exploration & Production, Manufacturing, Medical Services, Retail and Oil & Gas. My state and local tax experience includes overseeing corporate income and sales tax compliance and tax controversy projects. I have appeared before state and local tax agencies for the purpose of defending or negotiating audit settlements as well as various administrative hearings. Throughout my career, I have provided nexus studies and managed voluntary disclosure agreements with many state and municipal jurisdictions. I have developed planning ideas for the purpose of tax minimization, and have identified state and local tax credit opportunities. I have also overseen tax credit and incentive projects from start to finish, and have a strong background in performing reverse sales and use tax audits.Prior to my move to Matheson, I worked in state and local tax services at Ernst & Young, Weaver, Deloitte and Grant Thornton. My responsibilities included compliance and managing engagements for a number of Fortune 500 companies and large partnerships.
