About Michael Mina
I am a quantitative analytics and data science leader with experience creating solutions in banking, consulting, insurance, healthcare management, benefit services, and academia, as well as an adjunct professor of analytics at the graduate level. Working with talented people and helping others succeed in business and in other areas of life is what makes me tick. Outside of work I pursue my passion for writing speculative fiction. My short stories and poetry have been published 40 times, won several awards, and my novelette \"The Myroblyte\" was favorably reviewed in Amazing Stories. I\'m currently working on my first novel. Manage models for initial credit line assignment and credit line increase for the PNC consumer credit card portfolio. Subject matter expert on analytics and modeling for our consumer credit card portfolio- Helped develop, test and implement consumer credit card line assignment model and strategy. Primarily responsible for profitability model, validation of final line assignment, monitoring effectiveness of strategy- Redeveloped and managed implementation of a new balance transfer (BT) campaign optimization engine. Principles behind the engine were the subject of my presentations at two analytics conferences- Consulted on analytics projects with students at the PNC Center for Financial Services Innovation at Carnegie Mellon University- Consulted internally on consumer card lifetime valuation model, business card line increase, Spend & Get campaigns, predictive models for response, profitability, and the consumer card behavioral scorecard.
