As President, serve as the chief leader of the New Albany youth girls travel basketball program featuring 6 teams across 3rd to 6th grade. This role oversees all aspects of planning, organizing, managing, and growing the program throughout the year.Primary ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership:Set annual goals, calendar, and direction.Organize and oversee tryouts, registration, and team formation.Lead regular leadership or board meetings.Coaching Oversight:Recruit and select qualified volunteer coaches.Ensure background checks and certifications are completed.Serve as the main point of contact for coach support and guidance.Scheduling & Logistics:Secure gym space for practices and games.Coordinate team schedules, tournaments, and league play.Oversee uniform orders, gear, and equipment distribution.Financial Management:Develop and monitor the program budget.Set player fees and manage payment collection.Work with treasurer for accurate reporting and records.Supported fundraising and sponsorshipsCommunications:Serve as the face of the program to parents, schools, and the community.Communicate clearly and regularly with families about schedules, policies, and updates.Maintain social media and email platforms.Compliance & Safety:Ensure adherence to school/facility policies and insurance requirements.Enforce program policies and a positive code of conduct.Maintain emergency contact records and medical waivers.Season Close-Out:Collect end-of-season feedback from coaches and families.Organize year-end events or celebrations.Prep for the next year with a review of what worked and what didn’t.
