ABOUT MICHAEL KLOHA

I am a sustainability professional with over a decade of collective experience in green building certifications, ESG policy development, local government, and stakeholder engagement. I work with building owners and property managers on a variety of certification programs including LEED O+M, BREEAM In-Use, Fitwel, IREM CSP, and WELL. As an Associate Director of Certifications at Verdani Partners, I support the Certifications Department by managing green building certification (GBC) projects, assisting with business development, conducting trainings, and developing GBC resources. I also served as a USGBC Location & Planning (LP) Technical Advisory Group (TAG) member for four years, and I\'m currently an ActiveScore Steering Committee member. Previously, I consulted with residential and commercial developers to incorporate sustainable design and construction strategies for their various LEED for Homes and BD+C projects.I graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with a Bachelor\'s degree in Environmental Systems (Policy) and a minor in Urban Studies & Planning. With my degree I strive to incorporate sustainability and environmental justice in communities across the world. I am also a former intercollegiate athlete in NCAA Cross Country and Track, and hold professional credentials in LEED AP O+M, BREEAM USA In-Use Assessor, WELL AP, Fitwel Ambassador, TRUE Advisor, and ActiveScore & ModeScore AP. Currently I am studying for my LEED AP BD+C and ID+C credentials.
