ABOUT MICHAEL KLIMEŠ
I am a journalist based in London. I am the investment banking and capital markets editor at The Banker. I was formerly news editor for Money Marketing. I was previously acting editor from June 2022 to June 2023. As acting editor I opened and hosted Money Marketing\'s flagship conference in London: MMI Interactive in September 2022. I also hosted MMI Leeds in May 2023. The magazine has been shortlisted for B2B Title of the Year at the Headline Money Awards in 2023. I have been invited to LBC on several occasions over the year to do the business review either on a Friday evening or Saturday morning. As news editor I have been instrumental in building a reporting team from scratch that has been shortlisted for many Headline Money Awards in 2022. The magazine won B2B Magazine of the Year in 2022 and I won B2B Pensions Journalist of the Year as well. Previously I was the senior pensions reporter. At the Headline Money Awards I have been shortlisted for the B2B Pensions Journalist of the Year on three occasions: 2022, 2021 & 2019. I won in 2022. I was also shortlisted at Headline Money Awards for B2B Financial Story of the Year 2019. The magazine won B2B title of the Year at Headline Money 2019. Formerly I worked for Professional Pensions, a weekly magazine. I won 2015 Journalist of the Year for Data & Innovation at the State Street Institutional Press Awards. I was shortlisted for the same award in 2016. I won Journalist of the Year at the Incisive Media Awards 2016. I worked as a business journalist for International Business Times and work for Jiji Press, Japan\'s leading news agency. I have written articles based on interviews with Alistair Darling, Lord David Owen, Lord Nigel Lawson, Nassim Taleb (thinker, scholar and commentator), Lord Robert Skidelsky (the biographer of John Maynard Keynes). My writing has been picked up and published by the Japan Times. I used to write about boxing and am still a massive fan of the sport. I have a keen interest in boxing, contemporary politics, literature and modern history.
