As Pilot Operations Manager & Creative Specialist at Indoor Drone Tours, I play a hybrid role across drone operations, team coordination, creative production, and innovation: Drone Pilot & Creative Director (~45%)• Travel nationwide to conduct high-quality FPV and cinematic drone shoots, along with ground video and photography, primarily for commercial real estate clients.• Fulfill on-site creative director responsibilities, ensuring shoots align with client goals and Indoor Drone Tours’ visual standards.• Complete shoots weekly, typically in fast-paced, single-day turnaround formats.🧑‍ Pilot Coordinator (~45%)• Scaled our contractor network from 8 to 40 pilots and expanded our footprint from 5 to 23 U.S. states within the first quarter of 2025, enabling nationwide service coverage.• Lead recruitment, vetting, onboarding, and training of drone pilots in key markets across the country.• Ensure full contractor compliance with FAA commercial drone regulations and insurance requirements.• Provide end-to-end support through the pilot journey — from pre-shoot preparation to post-shoot footage reviews and performance feedback.• Manage our national pilot Slack community, facilitating educational sessions, peer collaboration, and real-time support.🧪 Research & Development (~5%)• Test and evaluate new drones, cameras, software, and production tools to maintain a cutting-edge, efficient workflow.
