About Michael J Murphy

I am a PSM-II certified scrum master, agile coach, business analyst, program manager, and project manager. As an agile coach, I support teams and organizations in their journey to an agile way of working. I provide advice and guidance to Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Development teams. As a business analyst, I work as the liaison between the business and technology teams. I deliver business process models, object models, use cases, user stories, and other software requirements artifacts. I am passionate about accurately modeling business processes and delivering the requirements of the business to software developers in language both understand. I speak these languages fluently as a result of my experience as a business manager, project manager, consultant, business analyst, Q/A analyst, software developer, and teacher. Back when I was working on my undergraduate degree, I had an opportunity to help a small business with their accounting system. I met their tax accountant, and he introduced me to some of his other clients who also needed help with their accounting systems. By the time I finished school, I had my own consulting business, which of course I called Michael J Murphy Consulting. A lot has happened since then, and along the way I’ve worked on some interesting projects for large and small companies. Much of my work has involved helping companies with their accounting systems and writing requirements for software development and testing. My smallest clients were single-person sole proprietorships and my largest client had operations in over 100 countries.
