About Michael Ivory
Michael is a graduate with distinction of Duke University. A Political science major and French minor, Michael has always been interested in the world where politics and culture meet. Between his academic interest and leadership experience as president of the Black Student Alliance, one of Duke\'s oldest and largest student organizations he has been able to carry this interest throughout his undergraduate career. Michael engages the world through his writing. Through essays, poetry, and prose fiction, he uses language to reveal the underlying currents that shape our local and global societies. He is currently pursuing his MFA at North Carolina State University, focusing on Fiction. As One Project’s Communication Assistant, my role is two-fold. As part of the communications team, I research and draft communications on behalf of the organization. I also work with the Communications team to help design and build out the messaging for the organization and its mission to support a post-capitalist world. Secondarily, I report to the Director of Communications and Strategy as an executive assistant.
