ABOUT MICHAEL VALENTE

From the Mountains to Bluegrass country, I\'m moving up the ladder as a multimedia journalist for LEX 18 News in Lexington, Kentucky. Born and raised in New York, the thought of moving to West Virginia had never entered my mind. Fast forward two years later, and I can confidently say it\'s one of the wisest decisions I\'ve ever made. I had an opportunity in front of me-one that has helped me grow in both my professional and personal life. Every story has a character behind it, and I hope I can give that person a voice.Before the move, I was working as an Associate Producer at ABC News Radio. I had the distinct pleasure of being a part of a newsroom covering national news, just months after graduating from Syracuse University, where I earned a B.S. studying Broadcast & Digital Journalism.In the summer of 2014, I interned for Sirius XM, with the Howard Stern channels. Before that, I worked alongside the self-proclaimed \"Hockey Maven\"​ Stan Fischler, interned at Panorama Magazine in Boston, and managed a staff of writers for my high school newspaper. I am comfortable using several software programs, including Audacity, Audition, and Premiere Pro. Currently, I am involved with WJPZ Radio, a Top-40 radio station that broadcasts in central New York. I have been an on-air personality on two shows,\"Orange State\"​ and \"Z Morning Zoo,\"​ and am comfortable operating the board. In addition, I hosted a talk show on WERW, the university\'s internet radio station.
