Michael Godoy

About Michael Godoy

As a T32 Postdoctoral Fellow at Rush University Medical Center, Michael Godoy applies his expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) and total hip arthroplasty (THA) to investigate factors related to hip implant failures. He collaborates with clinicians and engineers to analyze retrieval hip implants and develop computational models to simulate the hip joint mechanics and implant performance. He has published his findings in the Journal of Biomechanics and presented at several conferences. Michael Godoy earned his PhD in Integrated Biomedical Sciences from Rush University in 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Hannah Lundberg in the Computational Biomechanics Laboratory. He received multiple honors and scholarships, including the SMDP MedTech Scholar and the IMSD Fellow. He also holds a B.S. degree in bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he gained research experience in cardiovascular biomechanics and mathematical modeling.
