About Michael L. Filippidis

I am currently working as a full-time engineer at Lockheed Martin! My current specializations/interests are structural design/analysis on missile systems, but I also have experience with fixed-wing aircraft. I graduated with an MS in Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I was conducting research at the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL). I also graduated with a Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Applied Mathematics at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

   Develop advanced Finite Element Models (FEMs) to analyze primary and secondary structures of Missile Systems. Research and develop structural engineering specifications for metallic, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design or operation. Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowances and structural integrity using FEM pre-processors and post-processors, as well as hand analysis techniques. Specific Structural Engineering capabilities include static analysis, loads and dynamics analysis, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Primary tools used are ANSA, META, Nastran, Abaqus, ANSYS, MATLAB, Creo, Solid Works and Catia.
